Intro to the blog session (My Hometown)
Dear Students, welcome to your class blog, Here you will find the resources for you to start working on your writing. The objective of this course is to enhance your ability to produce academic texts in English. This will boost your confidence and understanding of the skills and strategies to build different types of texts in a foreign language.
We will begin with a small experiment. We will develop a descriptive text based on your hometown. First I am going to ask you to select 3 pictures from the Internet that best describe where you live.
When you are ready, take a couple minutes to select 15 keywords that you can relate to said pictures.
Finally, make a brief description of your hometown using most of the keywords possible.
Don't forget to Introduce and Close the topic.
(Write at between 80 to 100 words)

How many words can you relate to these pictures? Which are the activities that you would recommend? How about transportation, is it easy to move around?
