Post 5, My future job.
First, check out the following video:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/features/6-minute-english/ep-170413Listen and read the transcript of the video and think about the following questions;
- What kind of job would you like to have? How do you imagine it?
- Outdoors /indoors?
- Would you like to travel a lot in your job?
- What about the salary?
- What major are you studying / are you thinking of taking? Would you like to have multiple careers?
- Add any other related ideas.
Well, This is an awkward question for me, since I have been working for several years and, actually, I enjoy my job a lot.
I realize that teaching is quite different from what I had thought It would be when I was a student, but still, I believe it is an honest and helpful way of living.
Regarding my future plans, I would love to continue teaching, I have found a lot of happiness working with people. Maybe I would love travelling more, but with a purpose. I would teach in different parts of the continent, so I could get to know more about its people and their customs. I know it sounds a bit overblown, but I truly believe that teaching is not just a matter of passing down information in an efficient way; it is also sharing experiences, and by doing this, creating new knowledge. Also, we need to make our best efforts to fight ignorance and prejudice, poverty is not just a material issue but a cultural challenge as well.
On that same note, If I had to change something, I would love to work with small groups of diverse people (other than university and community college students), so I could get to know them better and learn new and challenging ways to foster knowledge, so I could keep up with my teaching skills.
Currently, my income is a bit tight, so I should be thinking about saving some money, and maybe find more stable jobs.
Furthermore, this term I am finishing my Master's degree in Media Arts, and this is a field I have the need to integrate into my teaching and everyday work.
In conclusion, I would definitely like to find the kind of jobs which allowed me to meet new people and share our views on life these days
So, What do you think about it?, please don't forget to comment below.

ResponderEliminarHi teacher Daniel, I like your passion for teaching (there is a book about Gabriela Mistral's pedagogical thinking), just I didn't understand whether you want to teach about arts or english language or both. Which area do you like most?
ResponderEliminarRegards!
